Most adventures are designed to be played in a four-hour time period, also known as a "round", although some are written to be played in multiple rounds. There are three primary types of adventures Regional Adventures: These are adventures set in a specific region of the Living Greyhawk campaign. Regional adventures are only playable in the corresponding geographical location. For example - Verbobonc adventures can only be played in Illinois and Indiana. Regional adventures typically cost 1 Time Unit (TU) for in-region and 2 Time Units (TU) for out-of-region characters. Verbobonc regional adventures begin with the prefix "VER."
- Introductory Adventures (or Intros) are a type of regional adventure designed for 1st level characters and written to introduce new people to Living Greyhawk and to acquaint people with our regional plotline. Verbobonc regional introductory adventures begin with the prefix "VERIntro"
Metaregional Scenarios: All of the Living Greyhawk regions have been organized into one of five metaregions - areas of regions with a similar theme or plotline. For example - the Tuflik, Fals, and Velverdyva Trade Route metaregion includes Verbobonc, Dyvers, Veluna, Ket, Ekbir, and Tusmit - because these regions all border the Velverdyva river. Like regional adventures, metaregional adventures may only be played in a corresponding real-world geographical location. Velverdyva Trade Route adventures begin with the prefix "VTF"
Core Scenarios: These adventures usually take place in the "non-playable" areas of the Living Greyhawk campaign, such as Greyhawk City, the Lands of Iuz, the Duchy of Tenh, or the Underdark. Core scenarios advance campaign-wide plotlines and usually cost 2 Time Units (TU); however any character, no matter what region you are from, may participate in a Core scenario. Core scenarios begin with the prefix "COR."
CONVENTION-ONLY EVENTS:
Some events are designed to run specifically at conventions. These events typically cover unique or special occasions that cannot be properly covered in a standard regional adventure. Verbobonc uses the following definitions for it's Convention-Only Events.
Interactives: These are convention-only events that cover unique or singular events of importance to the regional plotlines. The events covered in an Interactive are specific to a particular "point-in-time", the outcome of which impact subsequent regional adventures and events. Because of their unique nature, Interactives are "one-shot" events and do not run again after their initial premiere. Verbobonc interactives begin with the prefix "VERI"
Specials: These are convention-only events that, while covering significant events in the region, are not specific to a particular point in time. The events covered can potentially affect regional play, but are not specific to a particular "point-in-time". Because of their flexible nature, a Special may be run at a convention after it's initial premiere. Verbobonc specials begin with the prefix "VERS"
